A lot has happened since my last entry (over three years ago now). I moved, got married (coming up on our 2nd anniversary), and started graduate school. I've been spending a lot of my time in the field and in the lab, and haven't had much time in the past wile for making or posting art. I started doing woodcarving in the summer of 2010, and have been doing occasional projects ever since. As of the time of writing, I've only posted a few samples, but there should be more in the future. I have really enjoyed carving work--especially since it's much more portable than watercolor. I'm hoping to start carving bone in the near future. Apart from

I am...

Recently it has occurred to me that I have too many hobbies/activities/pastimes/etc for my own good. You have seen some of them from looking at my gallery, but I don't think most of you know the full scope of my activities. Here's the list, with (X) next to things I think I'm giving up or have given up within the past year: I am... And it says I was going to start a weaving project at 60" wide and 1 1/2 yds long, which I am still working on--and almost am ready to weave off! Fine weaving takes forever... and longer when the piece gets attacked by moths. :ohnoes: I gave my first official presentation of my research as a scientist a couple weeks ago. I'm searching for a native pollinator that would serve

No problem at all! Your woodwork is really amazing!
Hi! was just wandering through some old events on Subeta and found my way back to your gallery (I'm DragonLady there).

Love your Magpie!
Aha. It's been a wile, huh? You do some nice needlework. Okay. This may be awkward, but, every time I meet someone who knits (especially who has done amigurumi), I have to ask: would you make an amigurumi dissected mouse?

I have not yet been able to convince people that this is awesome.
